Water base inks are extremely transluscent, and should not be used on dark colored or black garments. Is is also important to note that when trying to achieve the softest print possible, it is good to start with a soft shirt, such as a fine gauge jersey knit, ringspun or, pima cotton.

Standard cotton twill fabrics used on the majority of 6.1 oz. Heavyweight tees, can be a bit stiffer and coarse to begin with, especially brand new. There is nothing that says you can't do a soft hand print, on these fabrics, but for optimal results, the softer the shirt, the softer the print.

For a soft hand print on dark colored or black garments, please read the next section, printing on Dark Garments.
